Bahrain Ceases Processing New Work Permits from “Red List” Countries

In addition to its earlier suspension of entry for travelers on the “red-list” – or those deemed highest risk due to virus rates and/or vaccination access, Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory authority has recently announced that it will cease to process any new work permit applications from red list countries. This applies only to applications being submitted from outside the Kingdom of Bahrain. The red list currently includes Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam.

The new directive is a further attempt by Bahrain to strengthen their efforts against the Covid-19 pandemic.
