Employers in Malaysia Required to Update Workplace and Employment Information

Written by Leanne Cottrell | Apr 1, 2021 6:57:00 PM

Malaysia’s Department of Labour (DOL) requires all employers who wish to recruit and hire workers to update the work locations and employment information within 90 days of either the commencement of operations, the acquisition of a business, or the change of name or business location.

Employers may download the registration form - 'Borang Pendaftaran Tempat Pekerjaan' from the Department of Labour's website. The duly completed form should be submitted to the DOL office located closest to the employer’s workplace.

Failure by any individual or employer to register and update information or if false information is provided may lead to fines of up to RM10,000, if convicted.

We advise employers to ensure a copy of the form is officially acknowledged as received by the DOL, as a copy of the same will be required within the application pack when submitting Employment Permit applications for foreign nationals to the MYXpats Centre going forward.
